The cacophony of gourmet raw food, massage trainings, yoga retreats, conscious dance and community events is a testament to this natural paradise. While the popularity and sheer novelty of the full moon parties have given the island quite a reputation, Koh Phangan is in fact a mecca for yoga, spirituality and healthy living. The Koh Phangan conscious community is strong and they maintain the chilled atmosphere that the island was originally known for. Yet the island still offers abundant pockets of tranquil peace and utter perfection. ![]() They offer rooms that suit all budgets, from their “superior rooms” to their garden bungalows, there is not a bad seat in the house.The breathtaking colours of life on Koh Phangan This small beachside resort with bungalow style suites and superb sea views is an enjoyable stay no doubt. The location was key as the dive shop and the pier (to get to and from the island) were just a short walk away. We stayed Ananda Villa on southwest side of the island right near Mae Haad Beach and Pier. We drove through here on the way to Vegeta, a vegan and vegetarian cafe with many delectable healthy options. There is even Watergate Spa where you can enjoy a massage while watching the sunset. ![]() We didn’t spend much time here, but enjoyed the drive through seeing all the bars, restaurants, cafes, shops and more. Head to Sairee for Koh Tao’s longest, most popular, and of course, busiest beach. We got an hour massage for $11 USD/person. Honestly, this is a top thing to do anywhere in Thailand. ![]()
